A Sweet Innovation: Vine to Bar on KTLA
We’re honored that Vine to Bar was featured on KTLA in celebration of International Women’s Day! This special segment highlighted the inspiring story behind our chocolate—how two visionary women, Peggy Furth (founder of Chalk Hill Vineyards and Winery) and Barbara Banke (chairperson of Jackson Family Wines), turned a sustainability-driven idea into something truly delicious.
As shared on KTLA, Vine to Bar chocolate is crafted with upcycled Chardonnay grapes, bringing together rich, premium 65% dark chocolate with our patented Wellvine™ Coastal Chardonnay Marc. This unique process not only enhances flavor but also boosts the nutritional profile of every bite.

This was a really unexpected plan - These two best friends never intended to be making chocolate. Because Peggy Furth, founder of Chalk Hill Vineyards and Winery, and Barbara Bank, who's the chairperson of Jackson Family Wines, well, Barbara Bank was finding a way to get more, finding efforts to bring more sustainability to the wine business. And they realized they could add upcycled Chardonnay grapes to create chocolate.
Oh, wow.
So it's vine to bar, rich premium 65% dark chocolate blended with freshly pressed upcycled Chardonnay grapes that have been dried and milled. And they have this very specific patented plant called Wellvine Coastal Chardonnay Mark, and this patent brings more flavor and nutritional content to your chocolate.
